About me:
Hi! My name is Leah 🙂
I’ve had sensitive skin for 39 years and counting and have been managing a rare skin condition naturally since 2021.
I’m learning to embrace who I am with self-compassion and love.
I remind myself daily that I am already perfect. I am worthy.
I refuse to define myself by a diagnosis or depend on prescription medication or creams to solve my skin issues.
I take ownership of what I put in and on my body.
I recognize that taking care of my skin is a lifelong journey, not a one-time fixed destination I will arrive at.
I focus on daily actions to support my health holistically.
I embrace the ups and downs and imperfections of my journey and learn from them.
My Favorites:
My favorite activities include being in the mountains, road trips, hiking, soaking in hot springs, reading, being a houseplant mom, and walking at sunset. I also love cheese and charcuterie boards. Other than being in nature, the cheese section of Whole Foods is one of my happy places. I love comfy clothes and live in yoga pants and a tank top as much as possible.
My Mission:
My mission is to support others who are struggling with chronic skin issues. You are not alone!
Beauty comes from accepting yourself where you are, giving yourself grace, and committing yourself to learning and growing. We can do this together!
About Skin Compassion:
Skin Compassion exists to open up a conversation and acknowledge the emotional side of struggling with self-acceptance and skin troubles. I have lived through many struggles with my skin, and I know how embarrassing and defeating it can be to have a rash on your body that you can’t seem to figure out or acne that comes at the worst times!
Skin is social. Whether it’s the color observed, a color you want to change, or a source of embarrassment and shame. It’s time to uncover what lies beneath it all and learn how we can take action to support ourselves in achieving clearer skin and living a vibrant life, unafraid to be our natural selves.
Our skin tells a story that is visible to the world. Although we can cover our skin with clothing or makeup, it doesn’t make our internal thoughts and anxieties beneath the surface go away. But good news! We can still have confidence in ourselves while navigating chronic skin issues when we recognize that we are already worthy on the inside.
